What professionals like you in our area are saying about Brainspotting....
I have been amazed by the effectiveness and the efficiency of healing that occur through the use of Brainspotting. Clients give positive feedback nearly every time. I find that compared with other modalities, Brainspotting encourages a more attuned presence from the therapist. I believe that Brainspotting ought to be in the toolbox of everyone who identifies as a trauma therapist!

Brainspotting is an experience, not just a treatment modality. Each client I've introduced Brainspotting to has had a different reaction, most say things like "How the Heck does that work?" or "I never thought I would go that deep!" It is rather exciting because I never really know how the session is going to unfold but I know healing is on the other end.

Brainspotting directly accesses areas of the brain where trauma resides and provides a unique method of communicating with the trauma in its own language. In contrast to traditional interventions, brainspotting allows the counselor to simply hold sacred space with the client as healing of mind and body takes place gently and organically.

What is Brainspotting? (a simple explanation):
Brainspotting locates points in the client's visual field that help to access unprocessed trauma in the subcortical brain. Brainspotting (BSP) was discovered in 2003 by David Grand, Ph.D. Over 15,000 therapists have been trained in BSP (52 internationally), in the United States, South America, Europe, the Middle East, Asia, Australia and Africa. Dr. Grand discovered that "Where you look affects how you feel." It is the brain activity, especially in the subcortical brain that organizes itself around that eye position.
